This month, the Let Utah Read Book Club will be reading Beloved, by Toni Morrison. Although it isn’t banned statewide, it has been pulled from libraries and classrooms in Granite SD.
This month, the Let Utah Read Book Club will be reading Beloved, by Toni Morrison. Although it isn’t banned statewide, it has been pulled from libraries and classrooms in Granite SD.
Beloved was published in 1986, winning the Pulitzer Prize the following year as well as being a finalist for the National Book Award. It has been adapted into a movie by Oprah and in 2006 was declared the best work of American literature of the past 25 years by a New York Times panel of authors and critics.
We’ve changed our meeting place to 3 Cups in Holladay. This little coffeehouse serves pastry, hot drinks, gelato, and - in the evening - wine.
