Coffee & Conversation about Censorship in New Mexico

Join us for coffee and conversation about censorship in New Mexico. A local anti-censorship group, Grandparents and Allies for Truth, has invited guest speaker and Albuquerque author Holly Harrison.

This event is free and open to the public. It's a casual mix of guest speaker and open chatting. Coffee provided. A great opportunity to connect with others concerned about censorship in New Mexico!

Bio: Holly Harrison taught English and Art in rural New Mexico for several years. Later at the University of New Mexico, she did educational research, creating better models of assessment and intervention for young children with divergent needs. Holly now devotes herself to writing mystery novels set in New Mexico. She is a member of several local and national writing organizations—Southwest Writers, New Mexico Book Association, Sisters in Crime and the Writers Guild. Her current novel, Death in the Land of Enchantment, was a finalist for the 2025 New Mexico Book Awards and is Long Listed for the Chanticleer Clue Awards. Holly has not personally faced censorship in her writing, but is well aware of the impact of book banning and censorship for authors and readers. Holly lives near Old Town in Albuquerque with her husband and their Scottish Terrier, Angus.

(Note: Groundparents and Allies for Truth is an affiliated group to Freedom To Read New Mexico. They're hosting. I'm just promoting.)
