STUDENTS in Support of Libraries
The Catawba County School Board needs to make books accessible for everyone by keeping them in our school system libraries. There are currently books in the process of being restricted and removed from high schools in Catawba County like Monday's Not Coming, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, Nineteen Minutes, The Handmaid's Tale, and The Bluest Eye.
Why is this important?
Reading opens doors for students to find someone like themselves by allowing them to read views from around the world. In Catawba County, the library is a prime spot to access books as many students don't have the means to buy books. Student voices need to be heard as WE are the ones affected.
